“Though the voices of our communities will not be heard directly, our canvas will speak for us,” Chris Dala, Malaita, Solomon Islands

Climate change hits poor people first and worst. This is what illustrates Oxfam’s exhibition "Canvas for Change" just launched today at the UN Climate Negotiations in Poznan, Poland.

Created by artists or children from all over the world, sixteen canvases illustrate the human impact of climate change. They show how climate change is already taking its grip on poor communities around the world, with many of the images inspired by visits to the region or personal experience.

The canvases will be on display at Poznan throughout the two-week UN talks and will act as a reminder of how millions of poor people who are already feeling the impacts of climate change, must be at the heart of the negotiations.
