Israel
It is a passionate regret for humanity that Jews, who have been persecuted for centuries in many countries (and still receive insults), now visit upon helpless Arabs, arrogant and pitiless injustices. Jews deserved (I'll go so far as to say) a homeland. British and international stupidity served justice for Jewish people by committing injustice for Arabs -- a legacy that Israel lives with today. Israel now finds itself surrounded by hostile neighbors, who commit their own horrors. Rigidity on both sides prevents (so far) a peaceful and humane solution. The security and water situations seem irresolvable. We should be able to do better. H. sapiens is not yet worthy of that species name.
