Former Director of the Women on Farms Project
Before joining Action Aid South Africa as Country Director this year, Fatima served as the Executive Director of the Women on Farms Project (WFP) in South Africa from 2004 to 2012. WFP is a leading South African women’s organization focused on the rights of women who live and work on commercial farms. Fatima has a rich history as a feminist political activist dating back to her youth during the anti-apartheid struggle. Through her activism, studies and work experience she has honed her expertise in the areas of rural development, women’s rights and peace building.
