A desperate and largely unknown humanitarian crisis is deteriorating in the Lake Chad Basin region of West Africa, forcing millions of people to flee their homes and leaving millions more in need of humanitarian assistance. Oxfam is providing life-saving support but help is urgently needed to prevent the crisis turning into a catastrophe.
Nicko Debenham is responsible for traceability and sustainability at Armajaro Trading, a global soft commodity trading house and supply chain manager founded in 1998. He is also Chairman of Source Trust a not-for-profit organisation established by Armajaro in 2009 to help farmers improve their livelihoods through sustainable farming practices. He has 25 years experience in the West African cocoa business and was recently appointed chairman of the World Cocoa Foundation.
